Pall-X 96 Nexgen is a waterborne polyurethane, designed as a two-coat layer applied over a single layer of sealer or primer coat. This is a crystal-clear finish that is designed to yellow as little as possible over time. It is Pallmann’s mid-grade quality, perfect for rooms with less foot traffic like bedrooms or home offices. But despite its lower cost, it has the superb leveling ability that Pallmann is known for. In the marketplace, the nearest competitor to this product is Bona Mega (which we also sell HERE) but we find that Mega is much yellower, more expensive, and can be more difficult to apply than the Pall-X 96.
Pall-X 96 Nexgen can be applied with a t-bar, the Pallmann 10” waterborne roller, or a 3/8" nap microfiber roller. Always cut in your edges with a paint pad.

Coverage rate for a single layer is 500-600sqft per gallon. Allow a minimum of four hours between coats. Only sand between coats if more than 24 hours has passed since the first coat of Pall-X 96 Nexgen using a 220 grit paper or screen, being sure to remove all sanding dust from that process.

Must be used over a primer coat. Works well even over competitor’s oil-based primers (Bona’s DriFast or DuraSeal QuickDry) but if you want a waterborne primer coat, keep it in the brand family and use one of the Pallmann products like Pall-X Clear or Pall-X Color.

Pete’s has a 30-day return policy – what’s up with that?

It may seem draconian but hear us out. We set this return limit because waterborne finishes are chemically delicate. If they are stored at very high or very low temperatures, or temperatures that fluctuate, the de-foaming agents become unstable. The longer a gallon of finish is out of our control, the less we know about how it was handled and stored. If we can’t be sure of how a gallon of finish will behave, we won’t resell it. But if we can’t resell returns, we lose our already low margin. So, yes, we are firm on 30-day returns on all finish.
